Automation Ferris Wheel Workstation (Level 1) - Introduction to Automation / AC and DC Drives Curriculum and Ferris Wheel Workstation
Workstation Functionality
This two-part unit provides all of the elements necessary to introduce students to basic industrial automation through the use of a simple and commonly-recognized theme park ride.
The unit contains:
- Controls hardware, including a controller, an AC drive with a HIM, a motor with an encoder, and an EtherNet/IP network
- An operator panel with pushbuttons, selector switches, and an HMI terminal
- A miniature Ferris wheel with sensor, warning lights, and decorative lights
Training Purpose
The workstation is designed to show automation hardware and demonstrate basic automation concepts. It will help you answer the questions, "What is automation?" The unit comes pre-programmed and ready to use with minimal setup (plug in and turn on). You can observe and operate the fully functioning unit. Experienced users may enjoy programming their own projects.
